MSN Buddies
March 7, 2007
I was commissioned by MSN to dress-up some Buddies. Namely: a fireman, a “goyesca” -see below- and, you know, a Lenin one. Why would MSN want a Lenin Buddy I chose not to ask. These are the mostly creepy results.

30% photomanip, 70% digital painting

Goyesque = Goya paintings’ ladies. Spanish 2 the core. 100% Photoshop.

Plain blasphemous. What can I say? I needed the money.
The first two were done in PS and the last one in Illustrator since they needed a hi-res version for a print ad. Fun stuff to do, even tough I still have nightmares with Lenin’s ghost returning from the grave to make me pay for what i’ve done to his dignity.
Dressing Buddies
October 29, 2005
Commissioned by guess who, and used for promotional purposes in the MSN Spain website and within MSN Messenger advertising tabs. These are kinda seasonal, so don’t expect to see’em again, or at least during a year or so.

This one needs little further explanation. A fireman-dressed buddy. I photomanipulated and heavily reworked the suit and helmet from a stock photograph of a fireman, and also painted some parts, like the walkie.

This time the buddy wears a spanish folklore dress, frequently depicted in Goya’s paintings. Thus, women who (dare to) dress these outfits are called ‘goyescas’. This one was done from scratch.
A Contratempo
May 28, 2004
I was dating a girl who studied drama. She and her colleagues needed some posters for a show, i was in the right mood and had absolute freedom, so i did them.

The plays dealed with issues like adulthood, paranoia, the female psyche, oblivion, the passing of years. So i opted for a gritty, nocturnal style and leaked some symbols i found appropiate for these subjects. “A Contratempo” was the name of the drama company that arranged the event.
