The Fuck Club
July 7, 2005
The concept behind The Fuck Club revolved around the idea of casual sex via an asertive and no-nonsense approach to the classical one-night stand hunting techniques. Let’s say you are in the horny mood tonight, and consequently, you decide to wear your Fuck Club badge. The point is, basically, that if you notice someone in the bar (disco, house party, you name it) wearing the signal (some form of Fuck Club merchandise, i.e. another badge) and you find this person attractive, you can go and talk about sex in clear terms, as any Fuck Club endorser accepts certain rules like this “ask freely” prerogative.
The badges read “Miembro del Club del Sexo” (“Member of The Fuck Club” in Spanish).
I did this as an humorous attempt to satirize and expose the whole “scoring” thing, which frequently involves loads of hypocrisy and turns out as a ridiculous and unneccesary ritual. I wrote a manifesto and printed some badges that I handed to guests at my 25th birthday. I dare to say it was a sound success.
