Ariel – Cada Gota Cuenta
September 19, 2007
Spanish for “each drop counts”.
Aim
To create environmental awareness about the water scarcity/desertization issue and to get as many people as possible signed to the cause. To position Ariel as an eco-conscious brand.
The website managed to attract a huge amount of traffic and got over 40.000 users registered and signed for the cause. 40.000 euro were donated to UNICEF and destined to help build a water purifying plant in Haiti.
Tasks
Art direction, photo manipulation, flash animation and layout. I had to retouch lots of photos to merge the cool details into one ‘perfect’ looking image. In some cases, i had to use 8-9 different photographs in order to achieve the desired result.

Metrics and the User

Done to support an article on metrics in the Interactiva magazine (June 2007 issue), same section as this one.
This one’s got more of a chalk-like finish.
MSN Buddies
March 7, 2007
I was commissioned by MSN to dress-up some Buddies. Namely: a fireman, a “goyesca” -see below- and, you know, a Lenin one. Why would MSN want a Lenin Buddy I chose not to ask. These are the mostly creepy results.

30% photomanip, 70% digital painting

Goyesque = Goya paintings’ ladies. Spanish 2 the core. 100% Photoshop.

Plain blasphemous. What can I say? I needed the money.
The first two were done in PS and the last one in Illustrator since they needed a hi-res version for a print ad. Fun stuff to do, even tough I still have nightmares with Lenin’s ghost returning from the grave to make me pay for what i’ve done to his dignity.
Pixel avatars

Wow! I made this back in 2001. Just found it while revisiting old directories.
It’s written in spanish so i’ll do my best to translate it.
“This is a lounging about orc. He’s carrying a halberd. For the roleplaying -noob- freak”
“This is a four-eyed kid. He may look shy but there’s probably a superhero lying beneath his looks. For the average websurfer.”
“A pink octopus. It ain’t got a mouth. For the otaku crowd or the exotic animals lover.”
“J-Pop girl. She’s the coolest in town. Perfect for the otaku girl.”
“A punk kid with fashionable hairstyle. Carries a chain and a Lard pin badge (although it’s hardly visible due to its size). For us who collected Master of the Universe figures back when we were kids.”
“A dungeon monster. It eats people and burps a lot. For RPG Masters or human resource managers.”
